One Humanity – Charity Concert, which features global rhythms and inspiring dance movements will support humanitarian efforts for those impacted by the Turkish and Syrian earthquakes.
All proceeds from the concert will go directly to the Australian Relief Organisation and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Appeal.
Artistic Director Farhan Shah, an award-winning singer, composer and music producer who will perform on the night alongside Sufi Oz, said the much-anticipated concert was a not-to-be missed event for world music lovers with a star-studded line-up of internationally acclaimed artists set to perform
“Traditional folklore dance ensembles including Ukrainian, Macedonian and Turkish groups and highly recognised top-of-the-line multicultural artists from varying cultural backgrounds will take centre stage and unite for the One Humanity – Charity Concert,” he said.
“Adelaide has a vibrant and diverse world music scene with award winning acts Compañía Alma Flamenca, Robert Macfarlane (Opera Singer) and Stephen Whittington (Pianist) plus Greek Meraki Music among the class acts to perform on the night.
“This is an opportunity for the South Australia community to get behind an important humanitarian cause by extending a helping hand to those in need.
“Some of the performers have family back in Turkey and Syria who have been severely impacted by the earthquakes and the proceeds from the concert tickets will make a difference as they rebuild their lives.”
One Humanity – Charity Concert will be hosted by presenter and podcaster Shanelle Franklin and former television news presenter George Donikian.
The event is presented by Pinnacle College with the support of the South Australian Government, University of Adelaide, Adelaide Festival Centre, UNHCR, Australian Relief Organisation and Australian Migrant Resource Centre.
