Piano Man: Celebrating the Music of Billy Joel

The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra will bring the Festival Theatre to life in February with the Australian premiere of Piano Man – a symphonic celebration of Billy Joel’s timeless music, featuring an all-star cast of Australian vocalists and fresh orchestral arrangements by Nicholas Buc.

For more than 50 years, American singer, songwriter, and pianist Billy Joel has defined generations with his iconic music, leaving an indelible mark on the global songbook.

With 33 top 40 hits, five Grammy Awards and more than 160 million albums sold worldwide, he remains one of the most successful artists of all time.

Under the baton of Vanessa Scammell, the ASO will be joined on stage by the incredible vocal talent of Phil Burton, Alinta Chidzey, Jess Hitchcock, and Josh Piterman who will each lend their unique vocal styles to celebrate the iconic sounds of Joel’s unforgettable hits.

Audiences will be transported by Joel’s most beloved hits, including Just the Way You Are, Uptown Girl, She’s Always a Woman, New York State of Mind, Only the Good Die Young, Vienna and, of course, Piano Man.

Whether you’re a lifelong Billy Joel fan or new to his music, Piano Man promises a concert experience like no other. Don’t miss this chance to hear the ASO celebrate one of the most successful artists of all time with orchestral grandeur.
