South Australia’s premier culinary celebration, Tasting Australia presented by Journey Beyond, returns next week, with its beloved Town Square hub bringing a fresh array of experiences to the heart of Adelaide.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga, Town Square remains the vibrant centrepiece of the 10-day festival and is free to enter each day. This year, it once again promises a compelling mix of food, wine, music, and art – offering something for every palate and sensibility.

Within the open-air precinct, guests will discover the Dining Galleries presented by Mitolo Family Farms, along with the ever-popular Seppeltsfield and Never Never bars. A highlight is Journey Beyond’s The Ghan Experience, which invites visitors to step aboard a journey of luxury and flavour. A variety of curated food and beverage events are also scheduled throughout the festival, with select tickets still available.

This year, Town Square introduces fifteen food offerings, including eight new culinary stars:

  • Athena Greek Eats
  • Comida Hahndorf
  • Dolly Bar and Eatery
  • Francesca’s Pizza and Sandos
  • Le Cordon Vert
  • Motherlode Nuggeteria
  • Kha Nom
  • Kombi Crew Coffee

These newcomers join seven cherished favourites returning to delight seasoned festival-goers:

  • Africola Canteen
  • Braising Boy
  • GANG GANG
  • Ong Noi Vietnamese Kitchen
  • Phat Head Dumpling
  • The Filipino Project
  • Shmochi by Shibui

Among this year’s culinary innovations is the Town Square Perfect Pair series. Four featured vendors – Dolly, Ong Noi, Braising Boy and The Filipino Project – will each present a signature dish along with a plant-based alternative, paired with an expertly chosen wine by drinks curators Meira Harel and Banjo Harris Plane.

Town Square will also celebrate South Australian creativity, with vibrant visual art by Sair Bean and Miles Dunne adorning the Dining Galleries, and a live mural from artist Hari Koutlakis taking shape across the festival’s duration.

There’ll be a rotating line-up of live local musicians and DJs, while Nature Play SA invites younger attendees to craft flower crowns on Mother’s Day, Sunday 11 May – a thoughtful touch for family celebrations.

Town Square will be open daily from Friday 2 May to Sunday 11 May. For full Tasting Australia details and to secure tickets to select events, visit tastingaustralia.com.au
