Living Choice raises over $20k for non-profit Youth Opportunities

For the Make or Break Challenge in May Team Living Choice have raised an incredible $21,330 for national non-profit organisations, Youth Opportunities.

Living Choice staff members and suppliers raised $11,330 for national non-profit organisation, Youth Opportunities, in the `Make or Break Challenge’ which was held from 1st to 21st May. With Living Choice directors, Graham Hobbs and Ian Tregoning, pledging to match the amount raised, to the limit of $10,000, it brought the Team Living Choice tally to $21,330!

Fourteen Living Choice staff members signed up for the Challenge which asked supporters to `Make or Break’ a habit and help change the lives of young people who need it most. The challenge was designed to help people of all ages build healthy habits that stick.

Many staff members opted to do a 7-minute daily workout, while Ian Tregoning chose to give up his much-loved Pepsi Max and Coke Zero and Graham decided to keep a daily `Gratitude Journal’. Following the end of the 21-day Challenge, several Living Choice staff members decided to continue with their new healthy habit, including the team at Living Choice Fullarton.

Living Choice Fullarton Village Manager, Vanessa Elmslie, said many residents donated funds in support of the staff members at Fullarton. “As a team, we exercised together for seven minutes a day. We have enjoyed it so much that we may continue it as an ongoing team-building exercise,” she said.

NSW Regional Manager, Gail Eyres, deserves special mention for raising $921. Gail set herself two challenges – work out at the gym for 50 minutes four times a week and leave work by 5.30pm. Anyone who knows Gail would realise how difficult that would be for the hard-working manager!

Group General Manager, Jason Sack, said he was extremely proud of the staff members for embracing the challenge. He also thanked the suppliers which donated to Team Living Choice, including Smartstone-HVG, Innovative Planning Solutions, URPS Town Planners, Dorsal Media, Solar Depot, Savant Energy and Ray White Flagstaff Hill. The major Challenge partner, National Pharmacies, also donated $2,000 to Team Living Choice.

As at 24th May, the Make or Break Challenge had raised $80,370 for Youth Opportunities, an organisation that works to empower young people to overcome life’s challenges and build positive futures for themselves. For more information, see Youth Opportunities
