Immerse yourself in a vibrant celebration of Port Adelaide’s photographic legacy during Salty Sessions: CLICK! at the South Australian Maritime Museum on Friday, 4 April.

Sponsored by a City of Port Adelaide Enfield grant, this special after-hours event brings the historic Mr Bond’s Studio to life, offering a unique experience that’s as much about fun as it is about local history.

Curated by Emma Haddy of the History Trust of South Australia, the event reimagines Mr Bond’s Studio as a modern photobooth, where guests are encouraged to dress up and snap instant photos. You can even try out Instagram filters that replicate the iconic glass negative style once taken in the very same studio.

“I’m thrilled that this exhibition will give visitors the opportunity to discover the stories of Mr Bond’s Studio,” says Emma. “It’s a chance to engage with local history while having fun, and perhaps even capture a photo to document our own time for future generations.”

Guests will hear from a panel of photographic experts, led by Emma. Also on the panel is Dr Andrew Dearman, a local photographer and camera enthusiast, and Lachlan Haig, a Port Adelaide native who trained in ventriloquism under Cliff Howes, a man whose portrait features in the Mr Bond’s Studio exhibition.

Music will be by local DJ Ruby Chew, and attendees will enjoy games like Mr Bond’s “Guess Who?” along with other entertainment.

Tickets include canapés from the Port Admiral Hotel, sweet treats from Mayfair Bakery & Patisserie, and a complimentary drink from McGregor & Young Distillery.
