Happy Gravy Day!

They say there's a day for everything – even gravy!

Every 21 December, Gravy Day is celebrated as a heartwarming Christmas tradition that sees Australians come together to cook, eat and connect.

The special occasion was inspired by Paul Kelly’s iconic 1996 song How to Make Gravy, a moving letter from a prisoner to his brother, expressing longing for family and the Christmas celebrations he’ll miss. It has become the quintessential Christmas anthem, with the day now synonymous with sharing hearty meals and celebrating the spirit of togetherness.

This year, Gravy Day is even more exciting, thanks to the release of the highly anticipated BINGE Original film How to Make Gravy.

For many, the song How to Make Gravy has become a Christmas tradition, and now the film is set to continue that legacy, bringing families together to celebrate, laugh, and reflect on the true spirit of the holiday season. The biggest new film release of the year on the streaming platform, How to Make Gravy has garnered an impressive 15 nominations for the upcoming 2025 AACTA Awards.

The film boasts an impressive cast, featuring a stellar mix of Australian and international talent, including Daniel Henshall (Snowtown, Mystery Road: Origin), Hugo Weaving (Love Me, The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix), Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean, Gods of Egypt, Titans), Kate Mulvany (The Twelve, Hunters, Lambs of God), Damon Herriman (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Mr Inbetween, The Bikeriders), Agathe Rousselle (Titane), Jonah Wren Phillips, and Kym Gyngell (The Artful Dodger, Love Me).
