An electrifyin’ Mother’s Day tribute to Olivia Newton-John

Gourmet Italian fare, live music, and a heartfelt tribute to one of Australia’s most beloved icons.

On Sunday 11 May, the Woodville Town Hall will host the debut of “Tribute to Olivia Newton-John”, a nostalgic celebration of the legendary singer and actress, paired with a lavish buffet lunch by Luigi’s Delicatessen.

Performed for the first time by Nikki Kosmider-Heuskes, daughter of Adelaide music legend Ron Kosmider, the tribute will be brought to life under the musical direction of maestro Joe James, supported by a stellar ensemble of Adelaide’s top musicians.

“Olivia had such a positive impact on my life and on the lives of Australian women and I know that so many mums will share my passion for her work,” Nikki says.

The afternoon kicks off at 12pm with an Italian lunch, and attendees are encouraged to get into the spirit—there’ll be door prizes for the best Grease-themed outfits, and VIP ticket holders will enjoy premium seating and an exclusive meet-and-greet with the cast and crew.

With a career spanning over four decades, Nikki is no stranger to the stage. Known for her work under the stage name “Barbarella” and as the frontwoman for ‘90s nightclub favourite Timewarp at Heaven, she brings both experience and charisma to her tribute performance.

She even shared a special memory of meeting Olivia in person while performing as a backup singer for international cabaret star Hans.

She walked in and sat down waiting for Daryl Braithwaite… I had never been star-struck before, I couldn’t even speak.

“[Olivia] said ‘sing for me!’ So we did and it was such a special moment… I will never forget it,” Nikki says.

Complementing the music is a mouth-watering spread by Luigi Di Costanzo, the force behind the award-winning Luigi’s Delicatessen on Franklin Street and now in Seaton. In his signature no-menu style, Luigi will serve a buffet of traditional Italian antipasti, arancini, seafood, lasagne, parmigiana, and desserts—offering a warm, family-focused dining experience.

The set list, curated by Joe James—a veteran musician who’s worked with the likes of Kate Ceberano, Stevie Wright, and Andrew Strong—will showcase all the hits: Xanadu, Physical, Hopelessly Devoted To You, and You’re The One That I Want, in a celebration of music, memory, and motherhood.
