The beloved WOMADelaide festival is back for 2025, revealing its first lineup of 47 artists. Held at Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla in Adelaide from the 7th until the 10th of March, the festival will bring together artists from all over the world, including the UK’s PJ Harvey, Germany’s Nils Frahm, Portugal’s Mariza, Serbia’s Goran Bregović & His Wedding & Funeral Band, and Australia’s Bangarra Dance Theatre.
For over three decades, WOMADelaide has been a vibrant celebration of global music, arts, and dance. Each year, the festival introduces fresh talent and brings world-renowned performers to its stages, making it a must-see event for music lovers and culture enthusiasts alike.
One of the major drawcards is the return of PJ Harvey. The legendary British singer-songwriter, who hasn’t toured Australia in eight years, will perform songs from her latest Grammy-nominated album I Inside the Old Year Dying and her extensive back catalogue.
Also set to take the stage is Berlin-based Nils Frahm, known for his groundbreaking blend of classical and electronic music. Portuguese fado sensation Mariza, with her powerful voice and 20-year career, will also captivate audiences.
From the Balkans, Goran Bregović and his Wedding & Funeral Band will deliver their signature mix of folk, rock, and classical sounds. France’s Yoann Bourgeois Art Company will present The unreachable suspension point, a unique dance and theatre performance exploring themes of life and weightlessness.
Australia’s own Bangarra Dance Theatre will debut The Light Inside, a cross-cultural collaboration with Māori choreographer Moss Te Ururangi Patterson.
WOMADelaide remains a hub for cultural exchange, with its WoMarkets showcasing international goods and The Studio presenting performances like Restless Dance Theatre’s Seeing Through Darkness. Festivalgoers can also indulge in global cuisine and take part in discussions at the three-day Planet Talks forum, all while enjoying the family-friendly KidZone.
South Australia’s Minister for Tourism, Zoe Bettison, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the festival’s role in attracting visitors and supporting the local economy. “For over 30 years, WOMADelaide has drawn festivalgoers from across the state, country, and world to Adelaide. With this impressive lineup, 2025 will be no different.”
Tickets are available now, and it’s the perfect time to start planning for the March long weekend. Whether you’re coming for the music, the food, or the cultural experiences, WOMADelaide 2025 promises something for everyone.
