The all-included long lunch, hosted by Mix102.3’s Ali Clarke, comes after the hospitality group teamed up with member of AUSA, Diane Howarth, in a bid to raise money for a special fund for Rebuilding Schools Ukraine.
Since the escalation of the Ukrainian War in February of 2022, over 360 education institutes have been destroyed and 3,400 damaged, leaving thousands of students displaced.
All proceeds from the luncheon will go towards rebuilding a school, including ticket sales, live auction sales, and raffle sales.
The event will be held in the newly renovated Top of the Ark and will feature three unique performances from Volya Dance Troupe, Bandura Ensemble, and Irmos Choir, all of which are Ukrainian performing arts groups.
A live auction with Phil Harris from Harris Real Estate will also take place, providing people with the opportunity to give even more to this important initiative.
The three-course menu will feature a traditional Ukrainian entrée, Varenyky, a potato and cheese dumpling, followed by a choice of two mains as well as dessert.
Hurley Hotel Group Owner, Jenny Hurley, said the support from South Australian businesses in putting on this event has been heartwarming with almost all food, beverage and entertainment donated, ensuring all proceeds of the day go towards rebuilding education for Ukrainian children.
“We are now encouraging people to come and have an enjoyable day that will make a difference to the lives of many Ukrainians who are experiencing extreme hardship,” said Jenny.
Diane Howarth of AUSA said, “We are so grateful to the Hurley Hotel Group for continuing to raise awareness and most importantly funds in extremely generous support of our Rebuilding Schools Ukraine fund.”
“This fund’s objective is to rebuild an entire school in Ukraine when the time is right. Many Ukrainian children have experienced things no child should have to endure and many have been deprived of education since the illegal invasion that began over 18 months ago.”
Both the Hurley Hotel Group and AUSA are calling on the people of Adelaide to come together in support of such a worthy cause.
