Raising a glass to a greener future with Frigid.Cloud and Bowden Brewing

This National Tree Day, Frigid.Cloud and Bowden Brewing are raising a glass to a greener future, partnering with the City of Charles Sturt Council, EverGreen Gardening, and many local businesses for a unique and impactful event on Sunday 28th of July at Bowden Brewing, Plant 3.

The focus of this collaborative effort is to showcase sustainable brewing practices while giving back to the environment and community. In honour of the day, Bowden Brewing’s limited edition ‘New World Pale Ale’ brew will be served in reusable stainless-steel kegs, eliminating single-use cans and packaging materials.

Throughout the day, attendees can learn about Bowden Brewing’s commitment to eco-conscious beer production, including:

  • Locally sourced ingredients: Minimising carbon footprint with local malts, including the
environmentally friendly Kernza Malt, local yeast supplier (Ferveo) and special Kviek yeast
strain, Barossa Valley hops, and repurposed bread and pastries from Lost Loaf Bakery.
  • Energy-efficient brewing: Utilising Frigid.Cloud’s innovative cooling system to optimise energy
usage across all tanks, along with special yeast strains that minimise cooling needs.
  • Waste minimisation: Capturing spent grains to cultivate delicious in-house mushroom tacos in
collaboration with Westside Mushies and repurposing the remaining substrate as compost for
    local gardens.

The celebration goes beyond the brew. For each pint purchased on National Tree Day, Bowden Brewing will plant a tree in partnership with EverGreen Gardening and the City of Charles Sturt Council.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 28 and raise a glass to a greener future at Bowden Brewing. Together, we can celebrate sustainable practices and make a positive impact on our environment, one delicious pint at a time.
