Calling all sparkling lovers: Sparkling Spring returns

There is just one month to go before the Adelaide Hills Wine Region presents its annual Sparkling Spring weekend from Friday 20th October to Sunday 22nd October.

Being held for the second time, after a successful start last year, Sparkling Spring celebrates the wonderful sparkling wines of the Adelaide Hills.

Over the weekend, a series of spectacular sparkling wine events at cellar doors across the Adelaide Hills will allow guests to revel in their love for bubbles, accompanied by exquisite bites, degustation lunches, live music, and blossoming vineyards.

Participating wineries include highly esteemed sparkling producers including DAOSA, Deviation Road, Lobethal Road, Mount Lofty Ranges Vineyard, and Golding; firm favourites of Croser, Howard Vineyard, Sidewood, Bird in Hand, The Lane and Nepenthe; locally popular Anderson Hill, Barristers Block, Cobbs Hill Estate, and Pike & Joyce; as well as boutique wineries such as Simon Tolley and Lofty Valley Estate.

Alex Trescowthick, President of the Adelaide Hills Wine Region said, “Sparkling Spring shines a light on the amazing sparkling wines being made here in the Adelaide Hills.

Sparkling wine is one of the hidden gems of the Adelaide Hills wine region. Our cool climate provides the perfect growing conditions for sparkling varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The talented Hills’ winemakers use traditional methods to craft some of the country’s most outstanding sparkling wines.

While Sparkling Spring is a relatively new event compared to the long-standing popularity of our Winter Reds weekend, October is great time to visit the Adelaide Hills. Expect warm sunny weather and picturesque vineyards with swathes of new leaves to signify the start of the growing season. It’s a great time to discover your favourite sparkling to enjoy over the coming festive season.”
